Protests

Protests concerning player eligibility must be made to the referee or a C2 Sports staff member by the coach prior to the completion of the game. The C2 Sports staff member or referee may require protested player and/or coach to provide identity of a player in questions. Refusal to comply with this request may result in immediate forfeiture.

Conduct

  • Any verbal or physical abuse directed towards the officials, opponents, opposing coaches, or staff members during or following a game will not be tolerated. Disciplinary action taken will be up to and may include indefinite expulsion from participation in any C2 Sports Leagues and activities.

  • Spectators are considered an extension of the team but may not enter the field. Coaches will be held responsible for the actions of their spectators. Spectators who enter the field before, during or after a game are eligible for suspension or removal from grounds and may result in disciplinary action against the team. Harassment and unsportsmanlike conduct by spectators will not be tolerated.

Standings

  • Will be based on three points for a win and one point for a tie, and zero points for a loss. Scores will be reported by game officials. Ties in standings will be broken by:

    1. Head-to-head play. In the event of a three-way head-to-head tie, ties in standings will be broken by:

    2. Total goal differential (up to +/- 8 per match).

    3. Goals against.

Laws of the Game

All Laws of the Game will be in accordance with Laws of the Game by IFAB with adjustments for 7v7 games as outlined by U.S. Soccer with the following notable exceptions:

  • All free kicks are indirect.

  • There are no offsides.

  • Indirect kick-ins will replace throw-ins. Kick-ins must remain below knee-height. If a kick-in is above knee-height, the referee will award a kick-in to the opposing team at the same location.

  • Goal kicks cannot cross the halfway line without hitting the ground first. There are no Build Out Lines.

  • Substitutions will be made on-the-fly. Substitutions are free and unlimited as long as they do not interfere with the run of play. Players may not enter the field until the substituted player is within 10 feet of the substitution box in front of the team areas.

  • Ball size #4 for U6 – U12 divisions and size #5 for U13 and above.

  • All match lengths will be 30-minutes.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no heading allowed for any age group.

Uniforms

  • The home team is required to change if both uniform colors are similar.

Number of Players

  • All age groups will play 7v7 (six field players plus a goalkeeper). Forfeits will be declared if a team has less than 5 players to start and/or finish a game). Note: A player may play for only one team in an age group.

  • On any goal differential of 8 or more goals, the trailing team may add an extra field player (if the losing team requests).

Duration of the Match

  • Games will be 30-minutes straight through. After each match ends, the clock will reset to 32 minutes and play can begin as soon as both teams are ready. The clock will be running throughout the match without stoppage for any reason.

Start of Play

  • There will be no pre-game coin toss. The home team will kick-off to start the game.

  • The kick-off may travel forward or backward.

Fouls and Misconduct

  • No heading is allowed at any age group. If a player heads the ball, the referee will award an indirect free kick at the spot of the foul for the opposing team.

  • Slide Tackling is not permitted. Instances where sliding is permitted include intercepting a pass or shot, taking a shot, or making a pass.

  • The referee will give yellow and red cards at their own discretion. If a player receives a second yellow card, he/she is given a red card and disqualified from the match and upcoming match.

Restarts of Play

  • If play is stopped by the referee for injury, coach/player disruption, or any other reason not listed in the laws of the game play will be restarted with a drop ball from the position of the ball when the play was stopped. (It is sporting for the team who was not in possession to play the ball back to the team who was in the position in an uncontested drop ball.)

  • Goalkeeper may not punt, dropkick, or dribble the ball from the hands. Once possession is gained with the hands they must throw to release and may not touch the ball again until another player has touched the ball.

  • Free Kicks:

    1. All free kicks are INDIRECT.

    2. On all free kicks, the defensive team must remain 8 yards (24 feet) from the ball until the ball is played.

    3. An indirect foul awarded inside the goal area must be moved to the top of the arc of the goal area and will be taken as an indirect free kick.

    4. The player taking a free kick may not touch the ball again until another player has touched the ball. Play will be restarted with a free kick to the opposing team from the point of the infraction.

  • Penalty Kicks: Ball placed on the top of the goal area.

  • The Throw-In: There are no throw-ins. Indirect kick-ins will replace throw-ins. Kick-ins must remain below knee-height. If a kick-in is above knee-height, the referee will award a kick-in to the opposing team at the same location. Goal kicks, corner kicks, and free kicks can be above knee-height.

  • The Goal Kick: Goal kicks cannot cross the halfway line without hitting the ground first. There is no breakout line. The opposing team must be outside of the penalty box.

  • The Technical Area: Teams may not have more than 2 coaches (over 21) in the technical area at any time. Spectators are not permitted in the bench area during the game for any reason.

Offside

  • There are no offsides.
